Ruah Riding is an innovative approach for adults seeking to improve their equestrian skills. We synthesize the best methods of classical riding and natural horsemanship with current research and practices into the ways adults learn. Focus is on the rider’s thinking, knowledge and riding behaviors in order to develop a well rounded horseman capable of maximizing his/her abilities as well as those of the horse.
New students are assessed with regard to their favored learning and communication styles as well as previous riding and horse handling experience. We spend time with you to learn your equestrian goals then formulate a program tailored especially for you. You’ll be encouraged to keep a riding journal to help you map your progress as well as pinpoint areas that need more work. We’ll provide you with written materials including lesson overviews to help you retain what you learn in the saddle.
